HCF now offers remote heart monitoring with Ramsay

Health insurer HCF has started offering remote heart monitoring service for patients dealing with heart failure.

It recently tied up with Ramsay Connect, Ramsay Health Care's community, home, and remote care joint venture with Remedy Healthcare, to offer two million HCF members access to the Virtual Heart Failure Service.

The service hooks patients with devices to self-monitor their blood pressure, pulse, oxygen levels, and weight at home, with Ramsay Connect nurses remotely monitoring their vitals. It also provides virtual consultations with specialists for lifestyle management advice.

The service was first launched to Bupa in 2023.

Online allergy resource goes live

The National Allergy Council in Australia has piloted an online platform that provides rural doctors specialist advice and support on allergic conditions.

The web-based platform, allergy assist, has a chat feature where doctors can submit de-identified cases for review by a member of a panel comprising clinical immunology or allergy specialists.

It also provides access to a clinical case index, as well as allergy education featuring cases, short modules, webinars, quizzes, and other resources. Participation in allergy education content also counts as CPD hours.

The platform is available for members of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine; rural doctors who are non-members can also apply for access.

The pilot runs for an initial 12 months.

Telstra Health has launched a new addition to its suite of digital connected care solutions, an AI-powered tool for clinical documentation.

Developed in partnership with Heidi Health and Intellitek Health, the Telstra Scribe on MedicalDirector clinic management software automates clinical documentation by converting patient-doctor conversations into notes. It can also automatically generate referral letters, patient summaries, and medical certificates.

Beta testing with 140 users showed that the tool saved five minutes per session on average, equating to an annualised savings of A$40,000 ($25,000) per GP, according to Telstra.
