Cornerstone Robotics bags $70M Series C funding
Surgical robotics maker Cornerstone Robotics from Hong Kong has raised over $70 million in a Series C funding round led by EQT. It also received additional investment from the Hong Kong government's Innovation and Technology Venture Fund.
The company, established in 2019, will use its fresh funds to expand into key global markets in Europe and Southeast Asia.
It also said in a media release that it will deploy the funds to develop new robotic products, conduct more clinical trials, and secure regulatory approvals. The company's surgical robotic systems have been adopted in major hospitals across mainland China, Hong Kong, and Europe.
Aevice Health scores new funding for global expansion
Aevice Health, developer of an AI-powered smart stethoscope for remote respiratory health monitoring, has received new funding for its continued global expansion.
Global chemical manufacturer Denka has made an undisclosed investment in the Singapore-based company through Pegasus Tech Ventures. Venture capital firm Elev8 also chipped in.
Denka will also collaborate with Aevice in the R&D of new respiratory AI technologies.
Aevice last raised $7 million in seed funding in August to establish its presence in its key markets: Singapore, Japan, and the United States. It also received $1 million from A&D Company in May.
Femtech startup obtains angel funding to develop app
Another Singaporean startup, AURA Fem Health, has raised $200,000 in angel funding from the executives of Knam Foods and AKG Associates.
Founded last year, it offers personalised health solutions to women of all ages. AURA will reportedly use its fresh funds to develop its mobile application, which testing is set this month.
